Community Mental Health Link Worker Service

Isobel Huggins is our Mental Health Link Worker. Isobel is a qualified Art Therapist, Family Therapist and Systematic Practitioner. She works here at the practice and for Somerset Partnership Trust, in Bridgwater's Community Mental Health Team for 14 years.

What is a Link Worker?

The Link Working service has been set up to offer you the opportunity to have your difficulties assessed by a specialist mental health worker here at the surgery.
Initially you will be offered a one-off consultation to find out what are your needs. Should you need continuing help or treatment this we can arrange and Isobel will advise you of the most appropriate service. This could be continuing appointments with Isobel, or it may involve directing you to alternative resources.

Where and when will the Service be held?

We hope to treat you in-house, at the surgery. Once the doctor's referral form has been received by the Link Worker she will assess your needs and the best place to treat you.
This means that you could be offered an appointment with Isobel the Link Worker, at the surgery or at one of Somerset Partnership Trusts units, your appointment letter will state this.
The service is held weekly on a Tuesday afternoon from 1.30 pm until 5.00 pm.

How long will the appointment last?

Your appointment will last approximately 50 minutes. This will enable the Link Worker to complete at full assessment and discuss your treatment options.

How long will I wait to see the Link Worker?

The doctor will advise you of the waiting time when they discuss with you this course of treatment.

How do I get an appointment with the Link Worker?

To get an appointment with our Link Worker you must be referred by one of the primary health care team at the surgery.

Chiropodist

Richard Welch is our resident Chiropodist. Appointments can be made either by telephoning or calling at the surgery. His clinics are usually held at the surgery on Thursday and Friday afternoons.

Counsellor

Corrine Brown is our resident counsellor. If you require an appointment please ask your Doctor for details. Her clinics are usually held at the surgery on Tuesdays.

Dietician

We now have a Community Dietician, working with the practice staff to ensure we have up to date nutrition information available for all our patients. To be referred please make an appointment with your doctor.

Phlebotomist

Myrna Toghill is our phlebotomist. She is responsible for taking the great many of our blood samples and is available by appointment on Monday and Tuesday mornings.

Next door to Redgate Medical Centre is Lloyds Pharmacy. The hours of opening are:
