Advice for Going Abroad

Count down to take off...

1. If possible consult our Practice Nurse at least 2 months prior to travel. She will advise on immunisations and medications.
2. If travelling in the EU please collect an E111 form from your Post Office. If travelling further a field make sure you have adequate insurance.
3. Take a small First Aid Kit.
4. Remember Personal Hygiene is essential
5. Avoid bites from insects with insect repellents and covering up. Avoid animal bites.
6. Be careful with raw vegetables, salads, fruits, shellfish and ice-cubes, these are common cause for stomach upsets while abroad.
7. Avoid the sun around midday - use high factor sun screen.
8. Sexually transmitted diseases are a major threat throughout the world. Condoms offer some protection.
